Marc Geujon

Marc Geujon is Principal trumpet of the Opéra National de Paris orchestra and professor at the Paris Conservatory (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris)

Graduated at the conservatories of Arras, Rueil-Malmaison and the CNSMDP, he was successively appointed Principal trumpet of the Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine, Mulhouse, Picardie and the Paris chamber orchestra. He has also been “guest principal trumpet” by many French and foreign orchestras and has played under the direction of the greatest conductors (Herbert Blomstedt, Semyon Bychkov, Myung-whun Chung, Gustavo Dudamel, Armin Jordan, Philippe Jordan, Kurt Masur, Georges Prêtre, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Valery Gergiev…)

Alongside his career as an orchestral musician, Marc Geujon has a regular soloist activity. Trained by Éric Aubier who then invited him to share the stage during concerts as a soloist, notably in 1997 during a tour with Maurice André and the chamber orchestra Paul Kuentz, he chose to explore all the facets of the profession of musician. With orchestra, in recital with piano, organ or chamber music, he frequently performs in Europe, Asia and the United States.

Dedicated to several works, his repertoire extends from the Baroque period to the music of the 21st century. A chamber musician, he is a member of the Brass Quintet of the Paris Opera. Appointed professor at the Paris Conservatory, after having taught at Rueil-Malmaison and Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, he is committed to perpetuating the great tradition of the French school of trumpet initiated by his illustrious predecessors while developing international exchanges. with artists and educators from around the world.

Passionate about organology, Marc Geujon has worked for many years with Schilke, a famous instrument maker in Chicago (USA).
